President’s Committee on the Arts and the Humanities, Turnaround Arts, Washington, DC

The President’s Committee on the Arts and the Humanities’ Turnaround Arts uses the arts to increase student engagement and improve the culture and climate in the country’s highest poverty schools. In 2014, iTheatrics was selected for the huge honor of helping Turnaround Arts present the first-ever White House talent show, hosted by First Lady Michelle Obama and featuring Sarah Jessica Parker, Alfre Woodard and Chuck Close..

NBC’s SMASH: Make A Musical

Sponsored by NBC’s television show Smash, iTheatrics built sustainable musical theater programs in under-served schools nationwide. Over a two-year period, we created and provided a series of professional development workshops for 30 schools through 24 states and the District of Columbia, providing 90 teachers with new musical theater skills, and over 2,500 students new access to the arts.

Freddie G Experience, New York, NY

Working on behalf of Freddie and Myrna Gershon, each summer iTheatrics plans and implements a three-day immersive training program for eight teachers from across the country. The program combines iTheatrics professional development workshops with insight from leading Broadway professionals.

New York City Department of Education, New York, NY

Since 2006, iTheatrics has offered New York City middle school teachers a series of professional development workshops in conjunction with the Shubert Foundation/MTI Broadway Junior Program. These workshops prepare teachers to produce their first musical and provide additional tools to ensure their musical theater programs are sustainable for many years to come.

As a part of the Kennedy Center’s “Changing Education Through the Arts” program, iTheatrics has been invited each year to lead musical theater workshops for teachers, teaching artists and administrators at the nation’s premier performing arts organization.
