BRONSON, Iowa -- Mary Siepker, a Lawton-Bronson first-grade teacher, was awarded an $800 Target field trip grant Friday, according to a statement from Target.

Siepker and the Lawton-Bronson Community School District were selected from among more than 25,000 applicants across the country, the release says.

Siepker said the grant will be used to take 120 first- through third-graders to the Orpheum Theatre in Sioux City to watch a performance of "The Musical Adventures of Flat Stanley" at 10 a.m. March 24.

Students will also receive two "Flat Stanley" books, thanks to the grant.
